AIADMK leader Sasikala’s plea for parole rejected

Bengaluru: Parappana Agrahara Prison authorities have rejected the parole application of AIADMK leader Sasikala, jailed after being convicted of in a disproportionate assets case.

Sasikala had requested parole in order to meet her ailing husband. Prison authorities held that her parole plea was not supported by a legally approved health certificate stating that her husband was unwell. Sasikala will be able to file a fresh parole application on Wednesday.

AIADMK’s disputed deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran said that a 15 days’ parole has been applied for Sasikala so that she can meet her ailing husband.

VK Sasikala, who was convicted in a disproportionate asset case, is currently lodged in Parappana Agrahara prison in Bengaluru.

Her husband has been hospitalised for the last nine months due to kidney and liver ailments.
