Bantwal: An BJP leader suffered serious injuries after his vehicle lost control and hit a roadside wall here at Apparipade in Ukkuda.

The injured has been identified as Kepu Kundakoli Rajeev Bhandary, District general secretory of BJP Raitha Morcha.

The incident took place in Kasaba village in Vittal. In a bid to overtake another ongoing vehicle and a bus, the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into roadside wall.

Rajiv Bhandary was returning home along with two children, wife and his sister from Vittal. Children and other members suffered minor injuries. As a result of the mishap the Scorpio has been damaged completely.

He has been admitted to a nearby hospital.

Vittal police visited the spot and investigated the matter.
