The coastal districts and the Malnad seem to have been swayed by the magic of the Lotus. The BJP has bagged Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu and Chikkamagalur ZPs.
The defeat in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu is being looked at as a major setback for Congress bigwigs and Ministers Ramanath Rai, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Abhayachandra Jain and Dr H C Mahadevappa respectively.
