Mangalore: The proposed World class mangalore railway station will get the bio-fuel cum solid waste degradation plant which is one of the inventions of NIT Calicut.
The divisional railway manager of railway palakkad division announced this in the railway review meeting held in the circuit house kadri.
The proposed world class mangalore railway station, announced in the 2010-11 budget, which aims in upgrading the current Mangalore Central railway station will be given with the bio-degradable solid waste treatment plant which utilizes the conversion of bio de-gradable solid waste into bio fuel, an invention of NIT Calicut.
Hence it will be a major breakthrough in keeping the mangalore railway station tidy.
It has been a concern of the public about the cleanliness of the railway stations in Mangalore. Inspite the DK disrict being a district which generates an annual revenue of 300 crores to palakkad railway division, has not been given much attention.
Push-pull train to be introduced between Bhatkal and Thokur
Push pull train which does not require a platform change and has the ability to go backwards will be introduced between Bhatkal and Thokur. This train will be introduced by the end of December as per the officials.
MP of mangalore constituency, Nalin Kumar Kateel was the president of the meeting who also took charge of the proceedings. Along with Nalin, railway officials of Palakkad and Mysore division, the commissioner of Mangalore city corporation, officials of various deprtments were also present.
