Mangalore : It is only when students accord top most priority to discipline along with education that they can succeed in life, said former union minister B Janardhan Poojari.
He was speaking after inaugurating a scholarship distribution programme organized by Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates and Shri Guru Charitable Trust at the Koragappa Memorial Hall of Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, Kudroli on August 11, Sunday.
Continuing, he called upon the students to follow the ideals propagated by the great saint philosopher Sri Narayana Guru. On the issue of several young men of the community being involved in crime cases, Poojari said the families should shun such youth.
Medical aid was distributed to 15 people on behalf of Billawas Dubai. Eight student achievers were honoured by chief guest Belthangady MLA Vasanth Bangera.
In his address, Bangera said the state government has earmarked Rs 5 crores to develop Enmooru and also to establish a chair in Narayana Guru in Mysore University.
HS Sairam, President of Gokarnanatheshwara Kshetra, Kudroli, Sadananda Suvarna,President of Shri Guru Charitable Trust, Jitendra Suvarna, Krishna Poojary, Udaya Kumar Kateel, Sudhakar Poojary and others were present.
A total of 225 students were awarded scholarships on the occasion.
