Bantwal : A tragic road mishap reported from Ramalkatte here on July 26, Friday  resulted in the death of a young bike rider. The pillion rider sustained critical injuries and is battling for life in the hospital.

The deceased is Kaushik Shetty (23), son of TMC Councilor and BJP leader Devadas Shetty. He was running the Sriram Nandini Milk Parlour in the town. Kaushik was on way to Mangalore with his friend Sanjith Bhandary  when the mishap took place. Though  both were rushed to the hospital, Kaushik was declared brought dead.

The condition of Sanjith is said to be critical. He is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kankanady.

Hundreds of people visited Kaushik’s residence to pay their last respects. Bantwal  police have registered a case.
