Mangalore : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bhajrangdal staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in the city on March 28, Friday demanding the resignation of State Health Minister UT Khader over the BDA site allotment controversy. The organisations alleged that the Minister had exerted his political clout to allot a BDA site to a Trust run by his brother though in reality it ought to have been allotted to the Kukke Subrahmanya Temple Trust to set up an information centre.

Kateel Dinesh Pai, Bhajrangdal leader who spoke on the occasion, said the Kukke Subrahmanya Temple Trust had applied for a BDA site in 2012 and had even paid a deposit amount of Rs 3.9 lakhs for the site in Banashankeri, Sixth Phase, Fourth Block. But, State Minister UT Khader had misused power to allot the site to his brother’s UT Nasima Fareed Memorial Educational Trust in 2013, he alleged and demanded the resignation of the minister over the issue. He also demanded that the land be alloted to the Temple Trust.
Gopal Kuttar, VHP District President, Bhujanga Kullal, Bhajrangdal District Convenor, Praveen Kuttar, Shivananda Mendon and others were present.
