Better package for Endosulfan victims in Karnataka : Khader

Udupi: “Endosulfan affected people will get better allowance under Karnataka package than the Kerala model”, said UT Khader, Health and Family Welfare minister on Friday January 31.

Khader, who visited the District Hospital at Ajjarkad said that a sum of Rs 20 crore has been sanctioned to Endosulfan victims from the CM’s Fund. Two committees namely Executive Committee headed by the  district in-charge minister and “implementation committee” under the  leadership of the Deputy Commissioner with health officials as members have been formed to effectively utilise the funds.
He also said that the people who are bed-ridden will be provided treatment through mobile health centres. They are also entitled for a monthly allowance of Rs. 3000, he added. Other victims whose condition is not that critical will get Rs. 2000 per month. He added that Endosulfan  affected people will get payment based on personal income.

Improvised and sophisticated rehabilitation centres  will be built to help the Endosulfan affected.Tie up will be made with well equipped medical centers and free services will be provided to the poor suffering from critical illness, the Minister said.
