Mangalore: The city based Besant Women’s College to host BEQUEST – 2013, an inter-collegiate talent contest on Tulunadu culture themed ‘Sirituppe’ barn of paddy here from Wednesday September 18 to Thursday September 19. The competitions were organized with a view of creating awareness on Tulunadu culture among the students fraternity.
Times of India, city bureau manager Kadri Navaneet Shetty will inaugurate BEQUEST – 2013 here on Wednesday.
Women’s National Education Society chairman Kudpi Jagdish Shenoy, deputy chairman Annappa Nayak, Besant Women’s College correspondent B Mohan Nayak, College principal Professor Pushpalata B K, student’s welfare officer Dr Meenakshi K and others will attend the programme.
The competitions on September 18 comprises: introductory of competitions, making face masks, first-round of quiz, collage, web designing, story-acting, first-round of shandy (village market), elocution, human resources, first-round of money transaction and folklore.
The competitions on September 19 comprises: cinemascope, dress making and display, final-round of money transaction, poetic-art acting and final-round of quiz.
The two-day competitions are focused on Tulunadu culture and several students’ groups from different colleges across the district are expected to take part. It will go a long way in creating awareness among the youth community on the splendor of Tulunadu culture.
