Mangaluru: The Beary Cultural Forum (BCF) brought silver lining in lives of several students, economically backward women and disabled as the organisation came forward to distribute scholarships, sewing machines and wheelchairs to them respectively, on Sunday, August 14 at Loyola Hall in Mangaluru.
The event was inaugurated by MLA Moideen Bava, who said that the BCF could become source of light in lives of as many as 600 students so far by distributing educational scholarships to them over the last 15 years, despite hardships. Chief Adviser of BCF and Managing Director of Zain international hotels, Zupharulla Khan was present.
While speaking earlier, President BCF, M E Moolur, said that scholarships, wheelchairs and sewing machines distribution could be taken up year after year due to untiring work of many of them whom who toil abroad, not only for themselves, but for the uplift of those needy in the society. While those needy are identified for the scholarship, the Beary Cultural Forum, does so without considering Caste, Creed or religion. It is for the benefit of Kannadigas and not for the benefit of any one religion.
A career symposium was held for the students by Kaup Mohammed, the dean from UAE London American City College, specifically aiming at creating awareness among the students about applying for a job. The symposium was inaugurated by Khazi of Udupi Al Haj Ibrahim Musliyar.
Advisory talk was delivered by Dr. A.M.Khan, Professor and Registrar (Evaluation), Mangalore University.
Zakariya Jokatte, Chairman, Al Muzain company, Jubail KSA was bestowed with ‘Star of Bearys 2016’ award by Moideen Bava, MLA Mangaluru North.
Nine students who have performed well in SSLC and PUC exams and who have excelled in the field of sports too were presented with a ‘BCF award.
U.T.Khader, Minister Food and Civil Supplies, Ivan D’Souza, Chief Whip of Legislative Council and Abdul Rauf Puthige, Founder Chairman, Talent Research Foundatiobn, Mangaluru, participated.
Overseas Guest of honour were Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Faithaulla Saheb Tonse, MD, Barsha international Group, Shaokh shareef, MD Dharahma Group of Co., KSA, Mohammed Ali Uchil, President BWF, Abu Dhabi, Abdul Hammed, President DKSC, KSA, Satish Poojary, President Association, Dubai, UAE and Abdullah Madumoole, General Secretary, BWF Abu Dhabi.
