Moodbidri: A clash has been reported between two groups in front of the Jumma Masjid at Handelu here on January 24, Friday over the issue of  damaging a banner.Tension prevailed in the area for some time owing to the clash.

It has been learnt that  a person named Saleem Handelu had  put up a  banner  in front of the masjid, extending best wishes to a programme organised by SKSSF Committee. However, this was objected by  members of some Muslim organisation who tore the banner. This resulted in an altercation and a clash between the two groups.

The Moodbidri police  rushed to the spot and dispersed the crowd.
