Hemmady :  An incident wherein a cash of Rs one lakh had been withdrawn from two bank accounts of one Gopal S Poojari of Katbeltur village  here using his ATM card, has been reported on Friday night.

It is learnt Gopal Poojari had credited Rs 50,000 each a month ago to his accounts in Corporation Bank and Syndicate Bank.

On Friday when he had been to the Syndicate Bank ATM to withdraw his cash, he realized that the same had been withdrawn by someone else. He immediately contacted the Bank Manager and informed him of the matter.

On enquiry, the bank officials found that   the amount had been withdrawn four times from another ATM centre on April 22. Rs 10,000 was withdrawn once, while Rs 1000 and Rs 3000 were also withdrawn later. The Bank officials said cash of Rs 10,000 and Rs 15000 were withdrawn later on April 24.

To Gopal Poojari’s dismay even the cash from his account in Corporation Bank had been withdrawn without his knowledge.

It is learnt on April 22, Rs 10,000 was withdrawn twice and Rs 5000 once, while on April 22, cash amounting to Rs 15000 and Rs 10000 were withdrawn.
