
Mangaluru: The Bajpe police cracked two incidents of chain snatching by arresting a 27-year-old person on Thursday, December 20. Police also seized two gold chains and a scooter from his possession.
The arrested has been identified as Thilak, son of Rukmaiah Gowda, a resident of Kattalsar in Paduperara village. The accused was arrested when he was loitering in a suspicious manner on Mooduperara Balavandi Temple road. When police informed about the same, a team of police headed by Bajpe Inspector S Parashiva Murthy rushed to the spot and detained Thilak for questioning. During the interrogation, it was revealed that the accused Thilak snatched a chain belonging to Pushpavathi and Akshatha on December 11 and December 17, respectively.
Bajpe police informed that the accused Thilak used to target lone women walking. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody.
