Bajal boy dies at Saudi : Murder suspected

Mangalore: A youth from Bajal, who was working at Saudi for the past four-and-a-half years, died under inexplicable conditions at Al Khobar, on Wednesday November 20.

The deceased has been identified as Asif (26), who was working for Live Safari Bird centre in Aqrabia near Al-Khobar.

Sources reveal that Asif left from work at around 12.30 am, in his company car although he did not reach home. He was found unconscious on Wednesday morning at a spot about 25 km from Aqrabia. Locals who saw him lying, informed the police.

After which Asif was rushed to King Fahad hospital. He recovered after the treatment and handed over his friend’s mobile number to the police officials.

But unfortunately before his friend would arrive, Asif fell unconscious again and did not respond to the treatment, he died at 10pm in the hospital.

Doctors have confirmed that Asif suffered injuries on his hips and head and assume he might have been hit by a car.

The car key and his mobile phone were with Asif but the car could not be traced. His friends suspect that Asif was murdered and police are investigating the matter.

Asif who was working as a bus conductor in Mangalore, had last visted his home town two-years ago. It is also learnt that he was planning to come home again in a few days. Asif was the youngest son of Abdur Rehman and Saramma and it is learnt they were planning Asif’s wedding.
