Kasargod : A Kumble police team led by Circle Inspector CB Thomas  has arrested another accused in the case of the murder of Balike Azeez of Paivalike.

The accused is Arsu alias Ansar (23) of Paivalike Kayarkatte. It has been learnt that he had abetted the killers by passing on the information to them over mobile phone that Azeez was heading towards his  house at Bayikatte from Permude. It is learnt, he had given the information to Yusuf Jiya, the brother of Ammi alias Hameed, an accused. Accordingly, the assailants were in waiting for Azeez near Paivalke and hacked him to death on the night of January 25.

Police said many more are likely to be arrested in this case. So far five persons have been arrested, Police say they have information that at least 16 persons are involved. Those arrested are Ammi alias Hameed Kalai, MLA Shafi, K Shafi alias Chotu Shafi of Paivalike and Rafiq of Salettur Talekki.
