Mangalore:Tribhuvan Automobile Sportz Club (TASC) and Bedra Adventure Club (BAC) Moodbidri along with Indian Motor Sports Club (IMSC), Mangalore jointly has organized “AUTOCROSS 2013”.
This is a two day National Level Autocross event for two-wheelers and four-wheelers to promote motor sports in Coastal Karnataka. This event will be held on 27th October 2013 at Pancharatna Grounds , near Mahaveer College Moodbidri.
This event will be licensed under FMSCI-Federation of Motor Sport Clubs of India, following all the safety norms prevailing in the motor sports events.
Day One (Saturday) will consist of registration, documentation and free practice . The race will take place on Day Two ( Sunday) followed by a prize distribution ceremony at the end of the race.
The event will be inaugurated on Day Two (Sunday) by the Union Minister M Veerappa Moily at 9:30 AM along with the chief patron of the event Minister Of Youth affairs and Sports Abhayachandra Jain.
The highlights of the event will be drivers like Dean Mascarenhas(Mangalore), Ranjith Ballal(Bangalore) , Shabeer(Bangalore), Baban Khan (Bangalore) and riders like Adnan(Mangalore) and Tanveer(Mysore).
The sub-categories in the two -wheeler category are- Open Class Indian & Imported, Indian Open Class and Scooter- with Gear and without Gear and Local Class Open.
The sub-categories in the four-wheeler category are -Open class Indian & Imported , Up To 1000cc, 1001cc to 1600cc, Diesel Open , Local Open and Ladies Open.
Total prize money for the event will be more than Rs.1.5 lakhs and there will be a special trophy for the fastest driver , along with the prize money of Rs.10,000.
There were a total of 150 participants in the last edition, and this year, the expected participants are over 160(both two-wheeler and four wheeler).

About TASC and BAC:
TASC,a club which stated back in 1983 has successfully organized many motorsport events from hill climbing to TSD(Time -Speed-Distance) rallies which have proved to be a crowd puller in the coastal Karnataka and also encouraged many young enthusiasts to participate motor sporting events . BAC a team formed by today’s young motoring enthusiasts from Moodbidri, has joined hands with TASC to keep this tradition alive.
