Mangaluru: Just hours after the brutal murder of a youth in Katipalla, two more cases of assaults on youths were reported from Suratkal and Kuloor here on January 3.

Basheer(45), a resident of Kavoor and Mubashir(23) from Bunder are the injured.

Basheer who suffered greivous head injuries in the assault is undergoing treatment at AJ Hospital and is said to be in a critical condition. The assault took place at a fast food outlet being run by Basheer at Kottara Chowki. His attackers remain unidentifed.

In the other case, Mubashir too was attacked by unidentified persons while he was returning from Surathkal. He was rushed to a private hospital with the help of the locals and is reportedly stable.

Cases have been registered in the Suratkal and Kuloor police station.
