Ullal: The police have imposed Section 144 in Ullal after law and order situation deteriorated further on Tuesday with miscreants attacking a banana vendor.

Safwan (22) was attacked with swords at Kallapu Patla by five unknown people who came intwo motorcycles.

Safwan residing in Kallapu Patla runs a banana vending business along with his father at Central Market in Mangaluru. On Tuesday, when he was walking home getting down from a bus at Kallapu, he was attacked at an inner lane near his house. The attakers then fled the spot. He was injured seriously and was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.

Section 144 has been imposed in the limits of Ullal police from 6 pm on Tuesday until 6 am on Wednesday.

Ullal MLA and health minister U T Khader has urged the public to maintain peace and has promised action against offenders.
