Mangalore:Urging the Govt.to retrieve the order issues to extend the timings of the Anganwadis from 1:30 to 4:00 the Anganwadi Workers of the State will organize a march to the capital called VIDHANASOWHA CHALO on November 19th said, the President of Dakshina Kannada Anganwadi Workers Association Smt. Vishalaakshi.

Addressing the press meet she said that until April 2011 the Anganawadi Centers were scheduled to be open from 9:30 to 1:30. But from the above date the Anganawadi Centers have to be kept open until 4 PM in the evening which is very unscientific.

The children who are admitted in these centers are of the age group 3 to 6 years.

If they are kept in the centers for more number of hours they are deprived from form their mothers care. In many places it is very difficult for the assistants to manage the children when the Anganwadi Workers are deployed to election duty and other duties of the Govt.

She also alleged that it has been six months since the completion of the election and till today they have not received a single penny for the pre–election duties.  Along with this the honorary payment that is given to the assistants is very less.
Hence to attract the attention of the Govt. regarding all the above problems the organization has organized the VIDHANSOWDHA CHALO on Nov. 19th.

The secretary of the association Smt. Chandravathi, Kumari. Latha Ambekallu, Smt. Aruna D,Smt. Jayalakshmi BR were present at the occasion.
