Mangalore : State Minister for Health and Family UT Khader has informed that the government has decided to distribute Ayush Pushti biscuits to Anganavadi children in order to tackle malnutrition in children below five years of age.
Addressing press persons in Mangalore on November 6, Wednesday, he said the scheme will be implemented on a pilot basis in one taluk of the state and would later on be extended throughout the state. Khader informed that the biscuit manufacturing process will be done on behalf of the Ayush Department and added biscuits required for children of one taluk have already been manufactured. He said the sole aim of this scheme was to ensure the health of the children and added that the biscuits are enriched with Ayurvedic ingredients.
Mobile phones for ASHA workers: The Minister on this occasion informed that the Health Department has decided to provide free mobile phones and SIM cards to ASHA workers and added that the scheme will be beneficial in passing on the information and guidance from the higher ups to all ASHA workers simultaneously.
