Mangalore: Health Department in the state has designed an app, enabling people to inform the higher authorities on any issues in the government health centres. The app is already designed, we will launch it in a day or two, said U.T Khader, minister for health and family welfare.

Speaking to the reporters on the sidelines of a review meeting on Wednesday, the minister said the app will be made available in Google Play Store under the name, ‘healthizen’, for download.

The app is designed to help the user inform any problem in the healthcare to the higher authority. “We have assigned people to monitor the problems raised by people”, the minister said.

Terming the project as first in India, the software can be downloaded to the android mobile phone from Google Play Store. Any persons who comes across any issue related to the healthcare can click its picture and upload it in the app. The message goes to the higher authorities in the health department, who will immediately rectify the issue, he added.

Computerization of records

U.T Khader also informed that the ministry has initiated works to computerize health records of all the patients in the government hospitals in the state. It will help the doctors to study the health track record of the patients, he added.

Presently, computerization of health records was available for patients who fall under ‘Maternal and Child Tracking System (MCTS).
