Mangalore :Amrit Paul IPS has been appointed as new IGP of Western Range recently.

The post of  Inspector General of Police was vacant since March after the transfer of Prathap Reddy.

Untill now R Hithendra Police commissioner of Mangalore was in charge.

Paul started his career as IPS officer of 1995 batch. He has served as Superintendent of Police in Udupi, Bidar, Bellary, assistant IGP (crime) and DIGP (internal security).
