Moodbidri: Alva’s College well known personality, R. K. Nayak, a security guard with the institution, is no more. He died of heart related disease here on Tuesday morning. Every year during Alvas Nudisiri, one could see this huge personality at the forefront of the celebrations. He was a resident of Banglegudde.

Recently he had undergone heart surgery, and from which he did not recover fully. After being admitted in Alvas hospital a few days back his condition worsened and he was taken to KMC Hospital for further specialized treatment. But the doctors could not save him.

He worked in a hotel in Hyderabad for four years. He also acted in few films in a villain’s supportive role. He was injured while practicing stunts during a film shoot. Later on he quit cinema and the hotel, owing to his physical condition. Then he started a hotel business in Karkala, but that too went into a loss. It was then he joined Alvas hospital as a security guard.

He used to dress in a different style which was called ‘Hyderabad style’. Even though he had a villainy look he was soft hearted, locals say.

His fans and admirers mourned as the news of his death spread.
