Mangalore : The All College Students union has pledged its full support to the bundh call given by various organisations on March 3 opposing the implementation of the Netravathi River Diversion Project.

Speaking to reporters in the city on February 27, Thursday, Dinaker Shetty, President of the Union said the plans of the government to implement Netravathi River Diversion Project in the name of Yettinahole project, intends at supplying water to industries in Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Tumkur districts. He further said the people of the district must reject this project which is a result of the selfish political interests of former CM DV Sadananda Gowda and union minister Veerappa Moily.
He informed that the All College Students Union would stage a protest in front of DC office on March 3 and burn effigies of Sadananda Gowda and Veerappa Moily.
Student leaders Ashwith Kottari, Rakshith R Poojari, Manish Gatti, Dharmaraj, Rajesh Shetty, Surabhi , Srilatha and others were present.
