Akshatha death case : Missing lover still untraced

Mangalore : The case of  death  of  Akshatha (18) a student of a college at Carstreet  continues to be shrouded in mystery with police not yet been able to trace her boyfriend Madan.

Akshatha  and her college mate Madan Kumar who had left home for college on September 21, did not return. If Akshatha was found dead on the river banks at Mulihitlu on September 24, the whereabouts of Madan is still not known.

The incident had triggered protests and students had staged protests by boycotting classes alleging that Akshatha was raped and murdered. There is also a suspicion of Madan’s involvement behind her murder.

Doctors who have conducted the post mortem say she has not been raped. Meanwhile, police have  decided to go in for  forensic tests to get exact details.

The  family of Madan hails from Moodigere  but is residing in Manjeshwar of Kasargod district since 15 years. The search for Madan has so far been futile. Meanwhile sources said that an astrologer has informed his  family that he has been murdered at some particular place. It is said the search  for Madan in the particular place by his family members, has been futile.
