Kasaragod: Afghanistan Police has deported an alleged ISIS supporter hailing from Kerala to Delhi Airport.

The accused is identified as Nashidul Hamzafar(28) a native of Wayanad district of Kerala. The Afghanistan police had deported him from Kabul to Delhi Airport, where the National Investigation Agency (NIA) took him to their custody.

Nashidul was detained by Afghan security agencies last year for illegally entering the country to join his associates in terrorist organisation ISIS.

Nashidul used to influence youths to join ISIS through social networking sites and was successful in adding 21 youths under his care off to ISIS camps.

Earlier, the Central Intelligence Division Wayanad unit had provided comprehensive information to the NIA that Nashidul often went to the Gulf countries like Muscat, Oman and later sneaked into the ISIS camp in Afghanistan.

The NIA sources said that 90 persons from Kerala including 38 from Kasaragod have joined the ISIS camps, amongst them, few have been killed in airstrikes by US security forces.
