Advanced CATH Lab Unit inaugurated in Fr. Muller Hospital

Mangaluru: A new well advanced State of art Cath Lab Unit was inaugurated and blessed by Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese at Father Muller Medical College Hospital. Ivan Dsouza, MLC, Govt of Karnataka was the Chief Guest.

The new Cath Lab is the first of its kind lab in Karnataka, and Fr Muller’s is the only Hospital to have two Cath Lab units in the city. The new Cath Lab has been installed by the PHILIPS Company at a cost of Rs. 4.5 crore.

Ivan D’Souza,  in his address said “heart is an important organ. The new Cath Lab will help the cardiologist to identify how the heart is functioning and also the heart related problems and find a better solution for the patients suffering from various kinds of heart diseases”.

He expressed deep unhappiness over the fact that many youth in the  age group 20 to 30 are suffering from heart diseases, and “this is  sad news  as far as  human life is concerned”.  “When someone in the family suffers from heart disease, the whole family suffers”, he added.

“Hospital work is god’s work”

Bishop in his presidential address said “Students often ask me to recommend them for admission at Fr. Muller Medical College, as they want to study at the best Medical College.” “Fr Muller’s has best cardiologists available 24X7, and the new Cath Lab has added more benefits to their service”, he added.

He blessed the unit, the gathering and wished all success to all the cardiologists, doctors, nurses and the staff, and urged them to provide good service to the patients.

Dr Prabhakar, HoD of Cardiology Department proposed the vote of thanks. Corporator Naveen D’Souza, Fr Muller’s Administrators, Doctors, Nurses,  and Staff were present.
