ABVP forms human chain, demands CBI probe into Sowjanya case

Mangalore :The ABVP staged a protest by forming a  human chain  near the Basaveshwara Circle on NH 66 on October 23, Wednesday, demanding a CBI probe into the Sowjanya case and a CID probe into the case of suspicious death of Akshatha. The agitation was organised as part of the nation wide awareness campaign on safety of women.

Addressing the protestors, Ramesh K, ABVP State Secretary, said  innumerous protests have been held across the district by various student organizations including ABVP demanding the handing over of the Sowjanya case to the CBI. He said  the government should hand over the case to the CBI at the earliest and ensure the strictest punishment to the culprits.

Mahipal BK,  city unit Organising Secretary of ABVP, Yatish Kumar, District Saha Sanchalak, Shubha, Vidyarthini Pramukh,  Chethan L, city unit Secretary, Agneya Chakravarthy, Vishal, Ashwath, Shravan, Jyothi, Krithi, Niveditha and others took part in the protest.
