Abhayachandra to bid good bye to fisheries portfolio?

Mangalore : In a new political development, Moodbidri MLA Abhayachandra Jain  who recently took oath as State Minister for Youth Affairs and Fisheries, has decided to quit his post as fisheries minister citing religious reasons.

Abhayachandra who spoke to reporters here on May 27, Monday, said   his supporters had been pressurizing him ever since he took charge as minister, to abandon the post of fisheries  minister. “ I do not want to hurt their sentiments,” Abhayachandra said.

Abhayachandra belongs to the Jain community  which  is vegetarian and believes in the principle of non-violence. It is learnt, it was owing to this reason that his followers did not want him to continue as Fisheries Minister.
