Unabated Illegal Sand Mining Curbed: Minister Srinivas Prasad

Bangalore:  In order to curb the rampant illegal sand mining across Karnataka, strict law will be enacted soon, said revenue minister Srinivas Prasad.

Addressing the media persons at Chennapattana, near here, minister Srinivas said that the state government will act in curbing rampant illegal sand mining that has been causing crore of rupees losses to state treasury, said minister Srinivas.

At the backdrop of general complaint that the sand mafia is active in illegally sourcing the material by digging gravel soil deep into the earth.  If its left unabated someday it will have serious consequences on eco-environment and also health hazard.

The minister Srinivas held discussion with Ramanagar district Deputy Commissioner V Srirama Reddy over the issue.
