Bantwal: The taluk education department for the first time organized an uniaue programme “Aatidonji Koota” in a school, here, in order to create awareness among the students on traditional customs and practices of erstwhile Tulunadu and nutritional aspect of foods.
The state forests and DK district-in-charge minister Ramanath Rai inaugurated Aatidonji Koota that was organized jointly by public instruction department, Bantwal, Government High School, Ajjibettu and government higher Primary School, B.Mooda, in a unique manner.
Speaking on the occasion, minister Ramanath said that Aatidonji Koota will become a stage to sustain Tulu practices and Tulu language. He also lauded the efforts of educatin department in organizing such programme that would educate the students of different castes and faith on the special features of Aaati month. The food culture of Aati month has health benefits, said minister Ramanath.
Ajjibettu – Government High School betterment Committee vice president Vasanti Poojarthi presided the function.
Sanchayagiri – Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Centre chairman Professor Tukaram Poojary, Town councilor B Mohan, Mangalore corporator Abdul Latif, block education officer Sheshashayana, school head teacher Sudha V Kalmane, Kushala, school betterment Committee member Keshav Daipala, Madwaraj Kalmady were present at the occasion.
The minister Ramanat and council member B Mohan were felicitated on the occasion.
