A Mock Drill on Anti-Terror Operations in Mangalore

Mangalore:The Garuda Force personnel of the Centre for Counter Terrorism (CCT) Bangalore conducted series of “Terror operations” for the whole day near Pandeshwar in Mangalore on November 8, Friday as part of a mock drill.

The operations were carried out in this fashion:

Two persons playing the role of terrorists named Kalim and Rahim Bhatkal gunned down the watchman of Vishwas Sahara Heights building in the area and held  three persons as captives  demanding release of Yaseen Bhatkal, the arrested Indian Mujahideen member.

They also demanded the police to arrange a flight for their departure from the city and a ransom of Rs 10 crore.

At about 12 noon, police team led by IGP (western range) Prathap Reddy arrived at the spot. Joining hand with the CCT team, the cops plunged into action and during the  exchange of fire, one terrorist was gunned down while the other was injured.

The CCT has been conducting training in Mangalore over the last three days.
