4 critical after tipper carrying JCB overturns

Bantwal :  A tipper lorry carrying a Hitachi JCB turned turtle  at Pilinja in Goltamajalu village on October 7, Monday evening after the driver lost control over the vehicle. Four persons  sustained critical injuries in the mishap.

Those injured are Vijay (30) of Davangere,Ummar Farooq(19) of Puttur Shantinagara, Naushad (19) of Shantinagar and Devaraj(22) of Hassan.

The   lorry of Kerala Registration was heading towards Uppinangady with the Hitachi JCB after completing some work at Bolantur. Eyewitnesses said the tipper driver lost control while passing through a slope on Bolantur road.

There was panic for some time with diesel from both the vehicles flowing on the road. Bantwal police rushed to the spot. The front portion of the tipper and the JCB are badly mangled due to the mishap.

Three persons in the tipper and the JCB staff had rolled on to the road and the man inside the JCB had to be pulled out with great difficulty.  It is learnt he has suffered a fracture in his leg.
