Mangalore:Three girls, all students of the NMPT Central School, who were earlier reported missing since October 7 afternoon, have been traced at Hubli.
The girls namely Varshini of Kavoor, Rakshitha of Kodikal and Vishwaroopa of Suratkal, all sixth standard students who had been to school as usual on October 7 had not returned home. After a frantic search, the families had lodged a police complaint.
It is learnt, the girls had boarded a bus to Hubli on October 7. However, a family which was travelling in the bus grew suspicious and as soon as the bus reached Hubli, the girls were taken to the police station. One of the girls then contacted her family in Mangalore. Arrangements have been made for their return and they are likely to return by October 8, Tuesday evening. Enquiry by the police revealed that low marks in exams and fear of reprimand had made them take such a step.
