Kasargod: As many as 12 bags of rice meant for distribution through fair price shops, which were being unauthorisedly transported in an autorickshaw to be sold in the black market, were seized by the police after public trapped four persons engaged in the unlawful act near Chowky in the outskirts of the city.

Those arrested are Radhakrishna(47), Vasantha (34) of Soorlu, Ahmed Kunhi (55) and autorickshaw driver Rakesh (32).
Food and Civil Supplies officials examined the rice and said there were 12 bags each carrying 50 kgs of raw rice. They said the licence of the fair price shop concerned would be cancelled.
