3-day ‘Healthcare Innovation Hackathon’ to be organised by Nitte

Mangaluru: A three day ‘Healthcare Innovation Hackathon 2021’ is being organised by Atal Incubation Centre of Nitte,in association with the Institute Innovation Cell, on March 25, 26 and 27 to create innovative, tech-based solutions for the challenges thrown by the healthcare industry.

This Hackathon which targets doctors and engineers, provides a platform for bringing together fresh perspective, disruptive approaches, cutting edge research and knowledge and encourages a collaborative approach to generate effective and efficient healthcare solutions for locally driven medical transformation.

“We have identified seven major problems that are persisting in the Healthcare and the challenge of this Hackathon is to come up with a solution which is affordable and simple,” said Dr A.P. Achar, CEO AIC Nitte Incubation Centre.

Individuals or teams of 2-4 with cross functional knowledge and multi-disciplinary skills who are willing to provide innovative and dynamic solutions that can solve high impact unmet clinical challenges can apply for the Hackathon.

All teams will get a chance to participate in a half-day long clinical immersion and visit a partnering hospital in their area of interest to validate their needs. A team of experts led by Jagdish Chaturvedi will provide direct mentoring in the Biodesign process to help teams develop their ideas.

The top five winning teams will get an opportunity to receive incubation support at AIC with a possibility of seed capital investment of up to Rs 25 lakhs (subject to evaluation).

Dr Achar said that already 50 teams from all over India has registered for this Hackathon.
