25 injured as KSRTC bus hits tree

Belthangady : As many as 25 people were injured when the KSRTC bus in which they were travelling to Dharmasthala from Harihara, crashed against a tree at Nidigal  here  during the wee hours of November 7, Thursday.

The accident occurred at around 5.30 am when the driver of the  bus  lost control over the vehicle.

The injured have been rushed to a private hospital in Mangalore in  six ambulances. Sources said the ambulances arrived at the  spot  hours after the mishap. It is said though the 108 Ambulance of Vittal was informed, there was no response which in turn irked the locals.

Some of the injured  have been identified as Nagaraj, the driver of the bus, Revanappa, conductor,  Anusha, Durgappa, Basavaraj, Anand, Nagaraj, Satyanararyana, Basavaraj, Girish, Bhasker and Hanumantha. Most of the injured are from Hubli, Hosapete, Haveri and other places.
