Kasargod: A 21-year old man surrendered himself before the police after brutally murdering his friend on Saturday night, April 22 at Manjeri, Mallapuram.

The accused has been identified as Nawaz (21), a resident of Kumble Mogral.

The deceased, Hassainar Asif (28), a resident of Kakkebettu, Nettanige was engaged in catering business in partnership with few other people at Karaparamb near Manjeri for over a year now and Nawaz had joined them recently.

It is learnt that an argument had taken place between the duo on Saturday and later again at night. In a fit of rage Nawaz slit Asif’ s throat and fled the scene. The neighbors who were alarmed by the screams found Asif bleeding profusely and rushed him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Meanwhile Nawaz was taken into custody after he surrendered himself before the police in Kasargod.
