BSY withdraws show cause notices issued to two leaders-1Speaking with media persons after inaugurating the office of Union Minister for Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman  on LRDE premises on Ali Askar Road in Bengaluru, Yeddyurappa said invitations were sent to all BJP leaders to attend the introspection meeting. “We have asked around 60 BJP leaders from Karnataka to attend the meeting. Some people are making false allegations on not inviting some BJP leaders to the meeting. These allegations are baseless and far from truth,’’ Yeddyurappa said.

The BJP state president said BJP leader in the Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa and Leader of Opposition in Assembly Jagadish Shettar would not attend the meeting due to prior commitments. “Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar will attend the meeting,’’ he said.

Coming down heavily on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for criticizing BJP, he said there are many issues in Congress but instead of addressing those issues, Siddaramaiah has been busy in criticizing BJP. “Siddaramaiah has become arrogant after winning the by-elections,’’ he said.

Reacting on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s call for the unity of like-minded political parties to prevent communal (BJP) parties becoming to power, the state BJP unit president said similar attempts were made in Uttar Pradesh but BJP romped home with absolute majority.

When asked about the possibility of Congress and Janata Dal (S) having an alliance in the next Assembly elections, the BJP state president refused to comment on it.

Commenting on borewell tragedy at Athani taluk in Belagavi district, he said the government should take measures to close all the defunct and open borewells to avoid recurring of such tragedies in the future. “Let us pray the safety of Kaveri. I appeal people to close the open borewells,’’ he said.

He conveyed best wishes to Union Minister for Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman and also appreciated MP Shobha Karandlaje’s concern towards people of Bengaluru.
