21 victims of Ulaibettu clash receive medical compensation

Mangaluru: The State Government of Karnataka has released medical compensation to the tune of over Rs. 4 lakhs to the victims, who were injured preceding Ulaibettu communal clash.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner A.B Ibrahim had assured to reimburse medical expenses of those who were injured during the communal clash, which erupted in Ulaibettu. 

In an order dated on January 13, after considering the plea requesting compensation sent by the victims, the government decided to release funds to as many as 21 victims, who were injured in the violence on December 15, 2014. The money will be released through the deputy commissioner of the district, A B Ibrahim.

According to the statements in the order, 21 victims altogether claimed Rs. 5,62,113 as medical aide. The government after considering the requests passed the orders to release compensation of Rs. 4,02,518.
