Mangalore: The Pandeshwar police have arrested two women who hav been accused of robbery, on Monday January 6.

The accused have been identified as 32-year-old Maheshwari and 22-year-old Nagu, both of them belong to Karoor district in Tamil Nadu whereas Nagu also has a child.
It is alleged that the duo were habitual offenders and would rob gold jewellery from houses and while travelling in buses.Gold weighing 12.96 sovereigns worth Rs 2.5 lakhs have been seized from them by the Pandeshwar police.
The duo along with the kid was moving in a suspicious manner around the Old Kent Area during the wee hours of January 6, Monday, when the police passing by enquired and took them into custody. Later during interrogating they admitted to the fact that they were robbers and were also involved in other robberies.
They have revealed that in November 2013 they had burgled a house near Nagabana Road in Pandeshwar Shivanagar and had stolen jewellery.In the same month they also looted a woman and snatched her jewellery while they were travelling in the bus. Police have seized the stolen gold which the two had hidden behind bushes near the railway track. The seized jewellery include a Karimani chain, a gold chain, 2 finger rings, ear studs, a bracelet and a necklace.
