2 houses in Hosabettu burgled

Mangalore : Two houses in Shivagiri area of Hosabettu in the outskirts of the city have been burgled on the night of October 8, Tuesday. It is learnt, the thieves have stolen valuables worth  Rs 80,000 from the two houses.

In the first case of theft reported from the house of one Renuka, thieves gained entry into the house by breaking open the  back door. They have reportedly stolen a gold chain weighing two and a half sovereigns apart from a cash of Rs 1000.

In the second case, thieves made way into the house of Lalitha through the window  and laid their hands on a gold chain, studs and finger ring weighing over two sovereigns. They also stole a cash of Rs  6000 from the cupboard.

Only women resided in both the houses and a lady in the house of Renuka though was awake when the theft took place, she is learnt to have failed to raise an alarm out of fear. Suratkal police have visited the spot.
