Mangaluru: A teenage boy met a watery grave in the Nethravathi river at Pudu village in Bantwal taluk on Tuesday, January 8.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Sattar, son of Abdul Basheer, a resident of Ammemmar in Bantwal taluk. Sources in Bantwal Rural police station said, a group of five boys had been to the river to take bath on Tuesday, January 8 noon. When they were enjoying in the water, Abdul Sattar drowned. Though, other boys who accompanied him screamed for help and rescue operation was launched by the locals, their efforts went in vain. Later, the body of the victim was fished out from the river.
A case has been registered at the Bantwal Rural police station in this regard.
