103-Year-Old Voter Sets Example for Youth

Kundapur: The youngsters usually wait for a holiday disregarding assembly election to engage in merrymaking.  Many of them does not want to go to cast their votes by spending half-an-hour.  Meanwhile, one-hundred-three-year-old Buddamma Poojarti, a native of Ultoor, near Tekkatte has set an example by casting her vote in the assembly elections on Sunday May 5.

Buddu Poojarti arrived at the polling center located at Ultoor Government Primary School, with the help of her daughter Laxmi on Sunday morning and fulfilled her democratic right in casting her vote.

She said to this reporter, Voting is our right that cannot be given up, said Buddu Poojarti.  I dont remember since when I am voting, but I would like to vote as long as I live, added Buddu Poojarti.

Buddu Poojartis daughter Laxmi said, I have no idea since my mother vote.  Despite her old age, she seeks our help in enthusiastically casting her vote that is motivating us.  She has never missed voting in her life, said Laxmi.

The polling staff, security men and locals indeed were surprised as feeble Buddamma arrived to exercise her franchisee.
