Mangaluru: The 10-month-old child who tested positive for COVID-19 last month, has made a full recovery and was discharged from the hospital on Saturday, April 11.

Now, a total of six COVID-19 patients out of 12 from the district have been discharged. Hence, the Dakshina Kannada district has achieved 50 per cent success in treating COVID-19 patients. The remaining six patients are still undergoing treatment at the Wenlock Hospital.

The health department has taken the utmost care in handling the COVID-19 patients as the mother and grandmother of the infant tested negative for the novel coronavirus. “This is a good sign for the district,” said district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh in a press release.

It can be noted that the family of the 10-month-old infant had travelled to Kerala days before testing positive for COVID-19. He was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru after developing symptoms of the virus.
