1 more arrested in Kasargod merchant looting case

Kasargod:  Vidyanagar police have arrested another person in connection with the case of  looting a merchant recently. The assailants had robbed cash and mobile phone. The arrested man is KA Abdul Sameer (24) of Madikeri.

The incident had taken place on March 27 night when the merchant Raghavan Nair of Poinachi was on way home after closing his shop. A  group of assailants had assaulted him and escaped with his mobile phone and a cash of Rs 31,000.

One of the accused who had fallen into a well  while escaping, was rescued the next day and admitted to hospital. Though the cash bag was found, it did not have cash and even the mobile was missing.  The accused Sameer Bendichal was later arrested.

Investigations are underway.
