Mangaluru: Ponnuraj, Managing Director, Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation Ltd said on Tuesday, April 19 that pending drainage (UGD) and water pipeline work will be completed under the II phase ofADB (Asian Development Bank) scheme.

Ponnuraj, addressing the corporators on the implementation of ADB scheme in the city, told that new projects won’t be undertaken till the pending ones are completed.
“The corporators should involve themselves and give suggestions for implementing various projects. The detailed project report (DPR) will be finalized once the council approves the preliminary detailed report,” he said.
“The data about water pipeline and UGD will be collected from ward level. Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation Ltd will provide all the details of work undertaken in the first phase of ADB,” he added.
Ponnuraj said that there would be a survey which would take a month and a half to complete after which officers from various departments will take part in asset mapping.
“Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) should set up a standing committee which would finalise and present the proposal in the MCC council meeting. This standing committee should hold the project review meetings till the project is completed,” he suggested.
The meeting saw a few corporators complaining about incomplete UGD and water pipeline work.
