‘Invest Dakshina Kannada’ to be held on Jan 12

Mangaluru: An investors’ meet ‘Invest Karnataka’ will be held in the state from February 3 – 5. As part of this, ‘Invest Dakshina Kannada’ will be held on January 12 at TMA Pai Convention Centre, DK Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim informed.

Chairing a meet with the representatives of various departments of Industries and Commerce at his office here on Thursday January 7, he said that the district in all likelihood, has attracted projects worth Rs 725 crore. This includes an LPG bottling plant, a steel plant, a chemical and water treatment plant, pharmacy plant, garment and apparel factory, wellness spa and a boat center. The Tourism Department proposed for constructing hotels and resorts at Rs 59 crore.

Plans to build a pharmacy park and expansion of MRPL are also in the pipeline.

‘Invest Dakshina Kannada’ will have various technical sessions on the district’s industries profile, State Industrial Policy, Tourism Policy, Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Credai, New Mangaluru Port Trust, Special Economic Zone among others, Ibrahim said.
