Karwar: Some students of the pre-matric boys’ hostel at Bada here staged a protest alleging that the food was not good. It is a hostel under the Social Welfare Department and the fish is not cleaned properly. Spices too won’t be put properly if made. They alleged that the toilet was not cleaned.

Social Welfare Department Deputy Director Ajjappa Solagad, who reached the spot, listened to the students for more than half an hour and then inspected the hostel.

He instructed the warden to provide quality food and cleanliness. The children complained about the irresponsibility of the cook and the security guard. He assured the students that the staff would be dismissed from their job if he came to check and found that they made a mistake.
