Karwar: The Deputy Commissioner of Karwar District, Dr Harish Kumar K has directed the district administration to complete all the works sanctioned under the Natural Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) by May 30 and report to him.
He had convened a review meeting of the departments of the district administration to study the progress of the various projects sanctioned under the NDRF and instructed them to submit a report on the work completed and fund utilisation by May 30.
The DC noted that projects under the Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department in Haliyala Taluk were pending and ordered their immediate completion. He said, “If the drinking water projects get completed before the rainy season, then the public will not face any problem.”
Dr Harish urged the district Public Works Department to complete its pending projects including Anganwadi, school and gram panchayat buildings, and road construction works before the rain starts. The departments concerned should get the approval for relevant projects by submitting the budget within a week and complete the projects quickly, he instructed.
The areas which have drinking water problems should be given top priority and the projects already underway should be completed quickly, said DC.
